The Quack Out Cholangio 5k Run/Walk to Crush Bile Duct Cancer is now going virtual.
You will now have until October 30 at noon to complete the 5k and forward us your results.
You can now sleep in and run anywhere, any time! You can run in the park, your favorite route, a new route, take to a trail, or a local high school track. You've been stuck inside with Covid...so Get your flock together and form a team for a fun fundraising day. YOU can help make a difference.
Cholangiocarcinoma is also known as Bile Duct Cancer. It is a deadly, aggressive cancer that is difficult to diagnose, often diagnosed at a later stage, has limited treatment options with most patients living less then 5 years after diagnosis. We need to change this! We believe that awareness = donations donations = research funds research = hope

VFW Post 475 Auxiliary
VFW Post 475 Auxiliary is offering a Halloween drive thru trick or treat on Halloween night (10/31) from 6p-8p at their post on 100 Veterans Way in Newark.
Parents and children should stay in their cars so they can safely provide candy while maintaining CDC guidelines. All candy will be pre packaged for each child.

Description: The Festival of Trees allows the community to come together to support youth in foster care between the ages of 18 and 20 years old. Local companies, organizations, and groups sponsor a Christmas Tree to be decorated. These decorated trees are on display to the public during the month of November, where they are auctioned. The proceeds help CASA of Cecil County provide safe and stable housing for youths who are about to age out of the Foster Care system.

City Fare Meals on Wheels

Description: City Fare Meals on Wheels is looking for volunteers to help deliver meals to homebound seniors and disabled persons in New Castle County. PAWS for People
PAWS for People is offering training for potential pet therapy teams. Anyone with a gentle, people-friendly pet who is interested in volunteering time to work with children and adults with varying needs. PAWS for People provides therapeutic visits to individuals who will benefit from interaction with a well-trained loving pet. Therapy teams consist of one volunteer and one pet who have both completed rigorous training and testing. Visitation sites range from nursing homes and hospitals to schools and libraries, with a wide variety of programs including eldercare, psychiatric support, developmental disabilities, literacy skills development and many more.
The training schedule is as follows:
